Sumatran Tigers could be extinct if poaching and habitat loss continues
"The Sumatran Tiger could be next to join the Balinese and Javan Tigers in extinction, with as few as 300 left in the wild.  Sydney's Taronga Zoo launched the International Tiger Project today. "

Tiger Escapes Enclosure at Oklahoma City Zoo; No One Injured
"Oklahoma City Zoo officials say a Sumatran tiger escaped its pen, but remained in an enclosed area before being tranquilized with no injuries and no danger to the public. The zoo said in a news release that the 4-year-old female tiger was spotted shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday in an enclosed space between two cat exhibits. A "Code Red" alert was issued, moving the public and staff out of the exhibits."

Seattle zoo opens new tiger exhibit
"Woodland Park Zoo opened the new Banyan Wilds exhibit on Saturday. Zoo officials say Banyan Wilds is the zoo's most ambitious new exhibit project in nearly two decades. The 2-acre exhibit complex marks the return of tigers to Woodland Park Zoo and will take zoo guests on a journey into the world of Malayan tigers and sloth bears."

"An endangered Siberian tiger performing in a circus that was engulfed in smoke during a show, must be properly health checked, campaigners said today.  The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service assessed 30 people at the scene of a circus in Carrickfergus at the weekend."
