Tiger mauls Australian tourist on Thailand's resort island of Phuket
"An Australian man is recovering in a Thai hospital after being mauled by a young male tiger in a special tourist enclosure at an animal park on the resort island of Phuket. Paul Goudie, from Werribee, near Melbourne, was attacked at the enclosure this week at the Tiger Kingdom tourist show after being given controlled access to a group of young tigers. Goudie, 49, suffered serious bites to his left leg and stomach and is being treated at a Phuket hospital prior to surgery to avoid the risk of infection."

Four white tiger cubs born in Vandalur Zoo, in Chennai
"A six-year-old white tigress has given birth to four young ones at the Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Chennai, officials said today. After having mated with a 12-year-old Royal Bengal tiger named Vijay, the six -year-old tigress, Akanksha gave birth to the cubs- all Bengal tigers, officials said. With the latest addition, there are 14 white tigers and 12 Royal Bengal tigers in the zoo presently."

Russia set for first joint tiger census with China
"Environmentalists in Russia’s Far East are preparing for the first Amur tiger census in cooperation with China, a local tiger conservation activist has said. Sergei Aramilev, the head of the local branch of the Amur Tiger Center, told TASS that the big cat census that is conducted once in ten years will start in winter."

No pugmarks but tiger sighting rumours abound
"Forest department's tracking team found no new pugmarks or tiger-kill on Sunday. "There of rumours doing the rounds and people claim to have seen the tiger but till so far it has not been located," said Awadh conservator Eva Sharma."

Stray tiger in amateur hunters’ crosshairs
"The stray tiger's presence in Malihabad has made amateur hunters active in the area with some of them planning to shoot down the big cat and hand it over to the forest department.  "Hunting a tiger is a matter of prestige and pride for many in Maal and Malihabad. Their forefathers hunted down many wild animals and hunting was a tradition in their families," said a conservationist from the area. Locals also said that many of these hunters have begun to liaison with each other for the same. "

Bandhavgarh tiger attack: 29 villagers arrested for arson
"Madhya Pradesh police on Saturday arrested 29 people who went on rampage after a school teacher was mauled to death by a tiger near Bandhavgarh National Park in Katni district on Friday. The mob attacked policemen and forest personnel, including local forest range officer while keeping some of them hostage. Some local journalists were also hurt. Villagers alleged forest officers were overlooking the fact that some tigers had turned man-eaters and were a big threat."

White tiger attack: Guard at Delhi zoo reveals shocking fact!
"The horrific story of Delhi zoo where a white tiger mauled a man who reportedly jumped into the enclosure has another angle to it now. Since the incident took place, people have been guessing about the intention of the white tiger when it was staring at the man for about 15 minutes (as seen in the video). Some people claimed that the tiger attacked the man because of the onlookers who pelted stones at it. But after much speculation as to what happened, the guard of the zoo has now come up with some unknown truth about the incident."

A Daily Mail headline writer screamed about the “diplo-cat-ic incident!” It’s not clear whether Putin raised the feline issue in recent talks at the Kremlin with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. With only 450 Siberian tigers left on the planet, Russia’s decision to weaponize one is sure to be controversial. Upon learning that Kuzya ate all five chickens he killed, my cousin Ray Sixkiller asked, if Kuzya is a weapon, “what does that make Col. Sanders?”"

I am a big fan of tigers however I must say that actually there are 4 subspecies of tigers extinct. There was also the tazmanian tiger; they were I believe the first one to go extinct.

Hello. I too have a big love for tigers, but as a non-member I can't submit or suggest any artwork to your gallery. I realize this is probably intentional, but I thought I would check if you allow non-member submissions anyway.
